    friendly staff
    great location
    whale-watching
    strict rules

We visited Petco Park for a game and went whale-watching. The location is perfect, tons of bars and restaurants close by! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Just a heads up, the noise from the street can be loud at night, but they give out ear plugs. Overall, great experience!

One downside was the overly strict rules in the hostel. it felt a bit stifling at times. You can't even have a drink with dinner or invite friends over, which killed some of the social vibe.

    no alcohol

Hi San Diego Downtown provides an excellent location right in the vibrant Gaslamp District, making it easy to explore a myriad of nearby restaurants and attractions. The kitchen facilities are modern, clean, and well-equipped, enhancing convenience for guests. Additionally, the breakfast included fresh fruit and bagels, which was a delightful start to my busy workdays.

The strict rules on social interaction and alcohol can feel overly restrictive.

The dorm was cozy, and I loved hanging out with fellow travelers in the common room while enjoying some games. There were plenty of spots to relax, like the chill lounge and the sunny rooftop terrace. Just a heads up, the shared bathrooms were a bit crowded, but it didn’t bother me too much! 😊

    noise levels

Prime spot nestled in the bustling Gaslamp District, making it a breeze to hit up nearby bars and restaurants. Clean dorm rooms stocked with comfy bedding and personal lockers for your gear.

The noise from the vibrant nightlife can be a real party pooper, especially if you're on a lower floor. don't expect much peace and quiet. Missing bedside outlets and lights are an annoyance when you're trying to charge up after a long day. Plus, if you're looking for some organized downtime with others, the lack of activities might leave you sitting alone in the common areas.

    convenient location
    clean environment
    noise disturbance

The hostel's location in the heart of the nightlife scene offers easy access to various restaurants and bars, including a Subway just a short walk away. The cleanliness of my room and bathroom exceeded expectations, allowing me to walk barefoot without worry.

Downtown's energetic atmosphere brings a fair share of noise, especially from nearby venues that can keep you awake late into the night. Additionally, the limited breakfast options compared to other hostels left me wanting, with only bagels and toast on offer. The absence of bedside charging ports made it inconvenient to power up devices while in the dorm, and the shared bathrooms had a bit of an outdated feel without sufficient cleanliness on occasion.

    convenient location
    common kitchen
    noisy atmosphere

The hostel’s location puts you right in the heart of the nightlife, surrounded by an array of bars and restaurants. Facilities like the common kitchen make it easy to prepare meals, and the vibe is casual enough to meet fellow travelers with ease.

The room in the women's dormitory felt tightly packed, with limited storage space and just one light for the whole area, which made things a bit dim. Noise from nearby restaurants and live music can be intrusive, especially when you're trying to sleep after a long day. Additionally, finding street parking took a frustratingly long time. it was many blocks away, and private lots seemed too overpriced. Also, be prepared for a few quirks, like the lack of privacy curtains on bunks, which could dampen the experience some guests might hope for.
